Background & Certifications

I received my B.A. in Psychology and J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, I practiced law for approximately four years and have been in talent acquisition and management for almost 15 years. I am a certified diversity trainer, organizational consultant and professional coach who is a member of the International Coaching Federation.

Coaching Clientele

I work mostly with lawyers (75%); however, I have worked with entrepreneurs as well as other professionals and executives (25%).

Coaching Process

I am available to meet with clients in person, via telephone, or Skype/Zoom/Facetime. Sessions can be 30 minutes or an hour and I don’t have a required number of sessions. Generally, the process with a client is introduction, evaluation, defining goals, identifying objectives, developing action plans, execution, and assessment. Depending upon the issues the client wants to address, diagnostics would vary accordingly.

Expectations & Benefits

My biggest expectations are for clients to be fully engaged and be pro-active throughout the entire process. Those who are receive quicker and sustainable results.

Background Information on Clients

If I’m working internally at an organization and a client is being referred to me by a supervisor/mentor/organization leader, then I’ll speak with that person (if available) to get background information and set initial expectations. If I’m working with external clients, I do not engage with anyone other than the client.

Case Studies

I received a referral from a supervisor who wanted a direct report’s communication skills to improve. After the first session, the supervisor saw an immediate change in the direct report’s presentation skills at a conference. Both were pleased. In another instance, I worked with a client on business development with a new business venture. Consequently, the client has been implementing the business development plans with success.

The single most important factor that leads to a successful coaching relationship

There are many but I would say trust and included within that is establishing a connection between both parties.

Fee Structure & Ranges

The introductory consultation is free.  Depending upon the client’s needs and the scope of engagement, hourly and project rates are available.
